Into The Storm (Cortex Club Mix)

Some melodies have a longer memory than their titles. Road Of Eternal Time, Road Of Century, Road Of Darkness, Into The Storm: behind those changing names is a musical line All Out has revisited over many years. The producer approached each new version with a little more experience.

Road Of Darkness VIP shared a 2014 mix with Colombo, Hybrid and Rennie Pilgrem. In 2016, Into The Storm reached Linda B’s show beside Mentally Disturbed. A familiar theme was gradually moving beyond its early circle into new programmes and towards other listeners.

Prepared for Dik Sam, Cortex Club Mix takes it into more experimental techno territory. It is distinct from the album’s Cortex Mix: the old idea now moves differently. In Sound System Aberration S02E03, it closes a selection following Tiësto, Dyro, Malaa, Taiki Nulight and Chris Lake.

A return need not be a backward step. Sometimes years have to pass before a piece once considered finished reveals where else it might lead.
