Louder Than Bombs

Louder Than Bombs became the first introduction to a new chapter of All Out. In January 2019 it opened the Cortex Stimulation singles series, followed by Hold On, Showcase and All The Way. The second album was still taking shape, but its individual pieces were already leaving the studio behind.

Listeners had encountered the track earlier, when Floyd the Barber played it on Breakbeat Shop in autumn 2018. Its own EP presented the full version, Edit and Other Side. Motor Cortex Stimulation would take the Edit, leaving the other versions their separate lives.

The Crystal Method, The Prodigy and Hybrid remained part of the producer’s listening, alongside increasingly heavy electronic music. Louder Than Bombs belongs to that moving balance: a longstanding attachment to breaks meeting greater experience with sound.

In 2023, the track found itself at the beginning again, this time in the Funky Flavor showcase. Its title retained the force of a gesture, while the music once again became an invitation to continue: from one number into a larger programme, and from a completed album towards another chapter.
