Rare Tracks EP

There is a point when a new project’s name becomes more than a sign above the door. For All Out Project, Fucking Idiots, shortened here to FI, marked that threshold. Alongside Ravers Domination Of Breakbeat, it gave the producer the feeling of having moved beyond his previous level. It was his own assessment, and an important reserve of confidence for what followed.

The 2012 Rare Tracks EP gathers FI, a short Chameleon, Carpe Noctum and a Limited Edition version of Limitless. Chameleon connects to an interest in neurofunk and drill’n’bass; Carpe Noctum brings together drum and bass, rock and soundtrack thinking. The small release lets these inclinations coexist without answering to a single album narrative.

Xilent, Broken Note, Noisia and Spor appeared in the producer’s DJ selections around that time. His own music was gradually entering the same circle. Later albums would continue the story; this EP keeps its early excitement, the sense of having found a different way to work and wanting to discover what else it could do.
