Showcase

Showcase gives its material more room than the album eventually would. Three parts preserve separate directions within one work. The second would enter Motor Cortex Stimulation; the EP keeps the others in view.

Part one grows from the earlier original Jungle Freaks and also has an archival continuation using Buddahmann vocal material. Part two had already reached Linda B’s show as an ID in 2017, well before the album was complete. These paths meet in a small release where each part still has a place of its own.

In 2019, Showcase became the third step in the Cortex Stimulation singles series, following Louder Than Bombs and Hold On. Years of album work continued behind those releases. The EP offers a pause within that process: three parts side by side, suggesting how many decisions can sit behind one line in a final tracklist.
