About the remix
A pop song is another field of interest here, rather than a holiday from heavy electronics. For the unofficial Heartbreaker, All Out turned to Michael Jackson’s Invincible period. The 2001 album offered a voice and a richly produced original as material for an electronic response.
The remix entered the catalogue in 2018. Jackson remained in the producer’s musical world afterwards, alongside The Weeknd, Hybrid and club records. There is a simple freedom in that range: a song does not need the right genre credentials to become a source of curiosity.
All Out has a separate history with Jam, which developed into Hot Damn. Heartbreaker takes its own path and retains the source name. This is work with one particular song from Invincible, and another way to approach music previously known only as a listener.
