About the remix
Even before the remix begins, I Know feels like a long acquaintance. Hybrid’s 1999 debut Wide Angle has an important place in All Out’s musical memory. Julee Cruise’s voice and the meeting of melody with broken rhythm belong to an electronic tradition the producer has returned to for years.
His mixes already included Hybrid and their work with BT in 2006. Later releases by the group continued to share his listening with heavier music. Published in 2021, this unofficial I Know extends that attachment rather than attempting an unfamiliar direction. Its full version runs at 131 BPM.
All Out placed it at the end of Sound System Aberration S02E04, following club readings of Sarah McLachlan, Moloko and Ferry Corsten. The position suits the story: a selection closes with favourite music meeting a personal response. Years of familiarity allow close work with the original without diminishing its meaning.
