About the remix
Imagine a party in 1994: that was All Out’s invitation into Walk About. It is an image of a rave past, not an account of an actual performance. The unofficial 2022 version returns to early Orbital; the theme itself already appears in the group’s 1993 John Peel session.
The attachment behind it also runs through Remind and Satan. Orbital remained in the producer’s listening beside newer and heavier records. The old school remained part of the present.
In 2023’s Funky Flavor, Walk About stood among new All Out originals. The imagined party entered a programme of current work without pretending to be a recovered archive tape. Rave memory becomes material that helps the producer move forward.
