All The Way

A vocal can be the beginning of a track without becoming its final destination. All The Way grew from an outside vocal part; over several years, its own theme became strong enough for the album version to leave that voice behind. There was no single moment when the change happened: an early version had already reached Linda B’s show in 2017, while the track did not find its final place on Motor Cortex Stimulation until 2020.

The January EP keeps all three paths open: the main version, Club Mix and Other Side. They let the same idea be heard in different states before it enters the larger album. All The Way is an apt name for that process: following a piece through, including the decisions that change along the way.

Other Side also found a place in Sound System Aberration S01E03, alongside Omar Santana, Future Funk Squad, Nubreed and breaks reworkings of rock and pop songs. For All Out, writing a track and then finding a place for it among favourite records are closely connected pleasures: two expressions of the same musical curiosity.
