Approach Extraction — Scald Record Studio edition

Before it opened a label catalogue, Approach Extraction had its own release on Scald Record Studio. Issued in May 2013, the EP brought the original together with remixes by Spinosa, Experimental Chemistry and Dub Rave. A track previously heard alongside Twisted, Limitless and Necromancer now had an entire release to itself.

Early music can live for a long time before anyone starts treating it as part of a discography. In the story of Approach Extraction, that path is marked by three other producers giving one composition their time and attention. While All Out’s first full album was still taking shape, the exchange was already real: a piece left its maker and returned changed.

The same selection later opened All Out Music. The Scald edition preserves the earlier moment, when Approach Extraction first became a release in its own right and received several distinct answers. These four tracks are modest in scale, but no less meaningful for it: they begin a conversation that would continue through later work.
