Core EP

A familiar piece can change its name before it has finished changing its shape. On Core EP, the future Mentally Disturbed is still Electric Mesmerise, and The Ravers is Ravers Domination Of Break Beat. This is early All Out, already passing between producers while Psycho Breaks was still coming together.

The Aluminium Tough and Potential Differense offer their versions of Electric Mesmerise; John Lenin takes on Ravers Domination. Another reading of Chameleon joins them. What makes the EP especially interesting is how differently these musicians approach material that had yet to reach its better-known album forms.

Core sits between a first idea and a settled decision. There is an intimacy to this small musical circle: themes return, familiar names reappear, and the answers keep changing. What later becomes a recognisable world is still open here, both to other musicians and to its maker’s further revisions.
