Electric Mesmerise EP

Electric Mesmerise is the early name of the future Mentally Disturbed, and a reminder of a time when one idea could still develop in several directions. All Out was already playing it in his own section of a 2012 mix, alongside Ravers Domination, Road Of Century and First Time. Elsewhere in the selection were Omar Santana, Future Funk Squad, Broken Note and Machine Code: his own work was already taking its place among favourite records.

The 2014 EP places the producer’s Extended Mix beside versions by The Aluminium Tough, Potential Differense and Ivan Louchkin. Each became a separate stage in the composition’s history. Before revisiting it for Psycho Breaks, All Out had already seen how many possible continuations one idea could have.

Mentally Disturbed would become the more familiar name. Electric Mesmerise retains the pleasure of a choice still open: develop the track differently, give it to another musician, take it back into the studio. It was through such experiments that All Out’s voice gradually took shape, even before the composition found its final name.
