Psycho Club

Psycho Club began with a specific impulse: to imagine how familiar music might work for a wider dance floor. Frank Mockery’s vocalist encouraged All Out to develop versions that might lead towards performances together. The early themes acquired another possible future, more outward-looking and directed towards a stage.

Five compositions from the 2016 Psycho Breaks received club forms between house and breaks: The Ravers, I Choose Noise, Music For Rituals, Into The Storm and Hot Damn. The work developed through feedback. With each familiar piece, All Out reconsidered the distance between the original intention and a more immediate connection with an audience.

Club music was already part of All Out’s world. Stanton Warriors, Fluke and reworkings of The Crystal Method had long appeared in his DJ selections. That experience now helped his own music gather momentum in a different way.

The intended performance project did not happen, but the five versions and their accompanying mix remain. Psycho Club preserves the moment of possibility itself: the next step was still only imagined, yet it was already changing the way familiar material was handled.
