Sound System Aberration S01E01

Sound System Aberration begins with a side of All Out easily missed behind the heavier originals. Its first episode turns towards progressive house and the club memory of the 2000s. Hiratzka & Kazell’s Prime, Dousk’s A Promise version, The Ritual and Victor Calderone’s work on Low Frequencies establish the direction of the selection.

Sultan, Muzzaik, Pashka and Marc O’Tool follow, with Monica through Scumfrog; Logical closes the programme. The choices reflect a longstanding attachment to melodic electronics and the world of Sasha. The producer’s DJ history is wider than one project sound, and the series makes that clear in its first episode.

In 2021, SSA also became a way to bring older selections to listeners they had scarcely reached before. Original releases had found an audience; a collection of favourite music could now be shared with them too. The first episode introduces another side of All Out’s work: the DJ’s.
