Sound System Aberration S3E1 ft. Shikmusik

In its third season, Sound System Aberration expands the conversation through substantial guest programmes. In December 2023, All Out invited Shikmusik, who brought enough music for two episodes. This one presents his harder Newer Skool side.

All Out opens with Rosalía’s A Palé through Gesaffelstein. Plump DJs, Massive Attack with Roots Manuva, Djedjotronic, Stanton Warriors and Noisia through The Glitch Mob form a circle close to his listening that year. Mankind Is The Program closes the section, carrying the pressure of its time and the personal weight of the experience behind it.

Shikmusik then takes over the programme. The Glitch Mob, Meat Beat Manifesto, Circle Of Dust, Future Funk Squad and Hybrid meet his own Anoize, Run!, Bad Girls and other productions. All Out material, including the Pearl’s Girl version, enters the selection too.

These are two independent selections, rather than an expanded collection belonging to one DJ. A shared interest in heavy electronics brings the participants together, while differences in taste make the exchange worth continuing. Another side of Shikmusik’s collection would unfold in his next appearance.
